How to Relax and De-Stress, Naturally!

PATRICIA PIMENTEL SELASSIE.  Stress can often be the root cause of almost any disease.  Diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, dementia and eczema are all chronic diseases that are exacerbated with stress.  You have probably experienced getting a cold or flu when stressed out and tired.  It’s usually a sure sign that you need to slow down.

Taking L-Theanine in supplementation form is a natural way to relax and de-stress.  L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea.  When you drink a cup of green tea, you get about 15 mg of L-Theanine.  In supplement form, though, you get a therapeutic dose of about 100-200 mg of L-Theanine – this is the necessary dose to help you with stress and anxiety, naturally.

L-Theanine is very safe to take.  There is one study from Japan that divided students into two groups.  These students were given a difficult math problem to complete.  The researchers gave half of the students L-Theanine, and the other half of the students a placebo.  They found that the students taking L-Theanine not only performed better, but felt better taking the test.  In addition, the researchers measured something called salivary IgA, which is an indicator of stress levels.  The students taking L-Theanine had significantly lower stress levels.
